Accenture 2019 Digital Health Consumer Survey

The future of healthcare delivery is approaching quickly. Oxford Economics worked with Accenture to field a survey of nearly 8,000 consumers across seven countries about their experiences with both traditional healthcare and alternative methods like walk-in clinics, virtual care, and on-demand services.

The results show that non-traditional services are increasingly popular ways to address the particular shortcomings of a given healthcare system, whether that means affordability in the US or convenience in countries with universal insurance. The willingness of younger generations – and people with current medical needs – to try non-traditional forms of healthcare will accelerate the adoption of these channels in the next several years. The providers and payers who heed the shifts and deliver what patients are looking for will be the ones to earn loyalty, navigate disruption, and be strongly positioned as the future of healthcare consumerism unfolds.
