Africa is disproportionately affected by climate change. It accounts for only 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions, in contrast to China (23%), the US (19%) and the EU (13%), according to a 2020 Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) report; yet many African nations are among the most vulnerable to the change in weather conditions.
