The impact of a glyphosate ban on the UK economy
The license that allows the use of glyphosate within the EU is due to expire in 2017. Glyphosate is widely used throughout the EU but there has been some political debate as to whether the license for its use will be renewed when it expires. This analysis, conducted in partnership with the Andersons Centre, assessed the potential impact of a ban on agricultural practices in the UK. The wider repercussions of changes to the agricultural sector were also explored, with the study estimating the potential GDP loss that could stem from reduced agricultural and supply chain activity.
