The long-term outlook for Middle Eastern and North African cities

Middle Eastern and North African cities are set to experience some of the fastest rates of employment and population growth of anywhere in the world over the next two decades. In GDP terms, however, the story is more mixed. In general, cities in North Africa will grow faster than those in the Middle East in the period to 2040, although income per person will remain much higher in Middle Eastern cities.

What you will learn:

  • In the Middle Eastern region, Iranian cities are expected to be amongst the fastest growing.
  • Economic growth in North African cities over the long-term will far outpace those in the Middle Eastern region.
  • Moroccan cities are amongst the fastest growing in the MENA region.
