Overview
Amid the fragmented global energy transition, the key question for decision-makers is no longer whether change is coming, but how climate risks and divergent transition policies will reshape industries and their supply chains.
Our Industry Climate Service is the only commercially available service that combines climate scenarios for more than 100 sectors with forecasts of sectoral output and energy use. Built on transparent, model-backed analysis, it enables robust climate stress testing, risk assessment, and long-term strategic planning.
What’s included?
Powered by our integrated global economic and industry modelling framework, the service allows you to quantify the impacts of climate change and mitigation policies on output and energy use across your sector and the wider value chain.
Industry climate scenarios
- Climate scenario forecasts: Five climate scenario forecasts for over 100 sectors across 49 countries. These include proprietary scenarios and those aligned with the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), featuring both short-term forecasts to 2030 and long-term projections to 2060, capturing both physical and transition risks.
- Industry baseline forecasts: Baseline forecasts for over 100 sectors across 49 countries, including output, energy demand, and CO₂ emissions. These provide a robust benchmark against which climate scenario impacts can be assessed.
Industry climate research
- Chartbook. Quarterly summaries of the latest climate research, scenario assumptions, and key findings. The chartbook provides a clear overview of the expected impacts of climate change and mitigation policies on industrial sectors, helping you stay informed on emerging trends.
- Research Briefing. Thematic research exploring key climate-related topics, including industrial de-carbonisation, electricity markets, and evolving policy developments and their sectoral implications.
Benefits
- Inform your climate strategy with model-backed insights. Quantify how physical and transition risks could affect growth prospects, output, and sales trends across more than 100 sectors.
- Support climate stress testing and reporting. Leverage model-backed sector scenario forecasts to enhance climate stress testing, risk assessment, and reporting, while ensuring alignment with international frameworks such as the NGFS.
- Unlock resilience across your value chain. Assess exposure to climate risks not only in your own sector, but also across upstream suppliers and downstream customers. Identify pressure points, shifts in demand, and transition risks across your supply chain under different possible climate paths.
- Identify strategic winners and losers. Compare sector performance across climate scenarios to understand where risks are concentrated and where opportunities may emerge, informing investment decisions and long-term strategic planning.
We continuously maintain and enhance our climate modelling and client offering, ensuring consistency, control, and analytical credibility.
